Severe weather threat over in North Texas, storms moving south

Storms are moving south of the DFW area.

The severe weather threat has ended for North Texas. As of 4 a.m. all severe thunderstorm watches have expired. Storms are moving south and most of Monday will be rain and storm free. The risk for severe storms will be to our south and west through the day.

The storms overnight Sunday into Monday morning did produce some high winds and heavy rain. Flooding was a concern and there were areas of high water on local roadways. On average 1-3 inches of rain fell overnight.

There were no reports of widespread damage. The highest wind gust reported was in Collinsville, Grayson County.

The next round of thunderstorms will be late tonight into Tuesday morning. Some storms will be gusty with high winds and heavy rain. Additional waves of showers and storms will be in the forecast Wednesday - Saturday. As of now, North Texas looks to be drying out on Father's Day.
