North Texas is under an Enhanced Risk for severe thunderstorms on Thursday. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch expired at 10 p.m. tonight.
The two frontal boundaries will converge over North Texas, leading to thunderstorm chances. Some of these storms could be strong to severe during the later afternoon and early evening hours, bringing a threat for damaging winds and hail.

The National Weather Service says areas along the Red River and in eastern North Texas should expect hail up to 2.5 inches, damaging wind gusts to 70 mph, and frequent lightning.
Most of North Texas is now under an Enhanced Risk, meaning numerous severe storms are possible and some may be intense.

The tornado risk is low, but not zero.
Stay alert during the afternoon and evening as these storms develop. Until then, partly to mostly sunny skies, along with warm and muggy conditions this afternoon, can be expected. Highs will be in the low 90s for most locations.
Dry weather looks to return overnight and into Friday. A partly sunny sky and a high of 89 are expected Friday.
The Memorial Day weekend will begin with very warm and humid weather on Saturday and a high of 93. However, thunderstorm chances will return Sunday and Sunday night as another front moves in. More scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely carry over to Memorial Day.
